Former City Council Member Steven Brun will rejoin the Bellevue City Council, filling the seat recently vacated by Melissa Tatum. Council held a special session May 31 and voted unanimously to bring him on board.
Brun served on council from 2005 to 2010. In a letter with his application, he wrote, “As I did for the six years I served previously, I will take this position most seriously and devote all the time needed to ensure the citizens are appropriately represented.”
Tatum stepped down from her position on council in early May citing the need for more time to finish her education. She is pursuing a master’s degree at Northern Kentucky University. She had served on council since 2014.
Brun was selected from a pool of 19 applicants. He is a lifelong resident of Bellevue and president of Smart Business Technologies Group, Inc., a computer and network security consulting firm.
