Winter Carnival is back in Bellevue this Saturday, February 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. throughout the Fairfield Avenue business district. In its third year, the popular community event features fun for the whole family.
Princesses and superheroes
Calling all princesses and superheroes! Children are encouraged to dress up and join in the parade to kick off the event. Gather at 11 a.m. outside Siam Orchid at 511 Fairfield Avenue to march. Participating princesses and superheroes will receive a goodie bag from Le Sorelle Boutique.
Willy Wonka will visit Witt’s End Candy Emporium, 305 Fairfield Ave, at 11:15 a.m. to drop a golden ticket into the Mystery Box. The person who pulls the ticket wins a $50 cash prize.
Magicians and fire eaters
What’s a carnival without entertainment? Prepare to be amazed by the roving Pickled Brothers who eat fire and swallow swords. Magician Presto Paul will perform slights of hand.
Event goers can:
- Learn what their futures have in store from tarot reader Robert Scott,
- Take home a balloon animal from Greg Wilson,
- Play games along the Midway or
- Get their faces painted by local artists.
All are encouraged to stop by the Say Cheese photo booth to capture a memory of the day.
Malts and knotty dogs
Getting hungry? Bellevue’s favorite restaurants will provide carnival food including milk shakes and malts from Schneider’s Sweet Shop and knotty dogs from The Pretzel Place.
Participating shops have more in store to help make this a packed day of fun for all.
The free Winter Carnival is sponsored by United Bank & Capital Trust (formerly Citizens Bank of Northern Kentucky) and Cleves and Lonneman Jewelers and is hosted by IN VUE. See the Shop Bellevue website for more information.
