Jazz vocalist Nancy James plays tribute to Rosemary Clooney this Friday, February 10, as part of the Music on the Avenue vocal music series hosted by St. John United Church of Christ in Bellevue.

Performing selections by Clooney from the Great American Songbook, James will be accompanied by local jazz musicians Brian Cashwell on piano and Michael Sharfe on bass.

Many in our area will recognize James from her work on the Bob Braun show in the late 1970s where she served as co-hostess for nine years. Today, she continues her vocal career in radio and television commercials and film voice over while also appearing regularly with big bands and trios throughout the area.

Music on the Avenue offers a variety of recital music including classical, jazz, pop, traditional and folk on Fridays from February 3 through March 3. Performances are free and begin at 8 p.m.
