Look for new stop sign on Covert Run in Bellevue, KY

by Jennifer Sierra

In a special council meeting held on Wednesday evening, the Bellevue City council members voted to approve an ordinance requiring all traffic on Covert Run to come to a complete stop before proceeding through the intersection of Covert Run and South Foote. A stop sign will be erected at the intersection.

The 2015 – 2016 annual budget was amended to reflect increases in the General Fund from $5,881,900 to $6,031,900 for Total Resources and an increase in the Total Appropriations from $4,265,050 to $4,415,050.

The 2016 – 2017 annual budget was approved by council with the exceptions of council members Dave Slater and Rodney Poynter who voted against the annual budget. See attachment for breakdown.

Council also voted to keep taxes on all motor vehicles for each $100.00 of assessed valuation at a rate of $.385.  Council member Dave Slater voted against this ordinance saying, “even though it hasn’t changed from the 80’s”.
