This week we will take you through each home at Homefest 2015 at Manhattan Harbour. Today’s featured home is named La Belle Riviere and was built by Brent Walker of Walker Homes.
The front elevation of La Belle Riviere is modeled off of homes from years gone by in the river towns of Newport and
Covington, Kentucky. The dining area is situated to take advantage of the riverfront views. The massive kitchen and eating area hearkens back to older homes since remodeled. The hall features sweeping arches and lighted ceiling trays that accent the space and raise the eye. Appointed with custom cabinets and granite counter tops this kitchen is offset with two tone color palettes and special details such as a cabinet style front for the refrigerator.
The kitchen and great room are open to one another in order to maximize the riverfront views. A soaring ceiling in the great room is set off by a handsome fireplace and mantle accompanied by coffered ceilings.
The first floor master suite is situated to take advantage of the outdoor presence of the mighty Ohio River. Just outside is a balcony that connects to the outdoor entertainment area. The master bath is complemented by a soaking jetted tub. A two-person counter and massive cabinet set is the highlight of the master bath.
The first floor study is a perfect example of traditional design highlighted by 5 foot wainscoting that is hand-finished. The study is completed by on-site handmade cabinets that can also be used as an entertainment area.
This second-floor guest room looks over the courtyard entrance to the front of the home. An additional guestroom has a beautiful view from the second floor of the Ohio River with its own personal balcony.
