On a beautiful, fall evening last week, the owners of Weller Haus Bed and Breakfast in Bellevue, Kentucky, opened up their Inn for an open house featuring one of the caterers commonly used at their event and entertainment facility. The Delish Dish is the name of the catering company headed by Chef Mavis Linnemann-Clark. It is appropriately named since every dish we tasted was indeed “Delish”. No kidding here. This gal can cook.
She served mini Blue Cheese Biscuits with various jams and jellies that she has created which are sold under her own product line label “Made by Mavis“. She has come up with some unique and very awesome flavor combinations such as Apple-Jalepeno Jelly, Blueberry-Lime Jam and Pomegranate-Pinot Noir Jelly. Alone or when paired with the biscuits, the flavors were outstanding.
Mavis makes a Bourbon Barrel Stout Syrup that she serves with cheese, meats and adds to cocktails. It is quite good and has a nice bold flavor. For the tasting she had it paired with a sharp cheddar cheese. Some other appetizers were goat cheese and apricot truffles, kale salad, and a substantial antipasto spread. But let’s not forget to talk about dessert. Banana Cream Pie Shooters, Salted Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars and my personal favorite, Chocolate Dipped Bacon, were proudly on display for our enjoyment.
Mavis takes home-cooking and comfort food to the next level and beyond. If you want an event catered with food that will your guests will be talking about for a long time, call Mavis and have Delish Dish cater your event.
The event center at Weller Haus Bed and Breakfast is open and available for parties and meetings of all types. The Inn’s garden and grounds are ready for fall and fun. For information on event facilities or booking a room, call Leanne Saylor.
