NKY Restoration is committed to providing educational opportunities to owners of historic property and professionals. In partnership with Preservation Kentucky and the Kentucky Heritage Council four hours (2 hours law and 2 hours general) of continuing education for Kentucky licensed realtors will be presented on Tuesday April 28 beginning at 10 am at the Mess Hall located at 801 Cochran Avenue in Fort Thomas, Kentucky.
Northern Kentucky has a vast collection of historic buildings and the goal by providing this training is to increase awareness of the value of these properties and to educate realtors on how to position them as assets. $45.00 registration is required in advance at http://preservationkentucky.org/newsEvents.php. Doors open at the Mess Hall at 9:30 am with plenty of free parking available. Boxed lunches will be provided.
Attendees will learn the basics of historic preservation for real estate in the following four sessions:
Describing Historic Properties – What makes a property historic and a guide to house styles,
National Register and Local Historic Designation – What is the National Register of Historic Places and local historic district designation mean for a potential property owner along with what is Section 106 and how can it protect historic properties,
Incentives for Historic Properties – State and federal tax credits, the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for rehabilitation, and historic preservation easements and tax abatement programs, and
Tying this Information Together – Effectively marketing historic properties and advising your clients.
Realtors interested in receiving credits will need to follow the link to Preservation Kentucky’s website to complete the registration.
